BLS for Healthcare Providers
This 4 hour course is an American Heart Association Healthcare Provider level course that meets the CPR requirements for those working in the healthcare field. Although this classroom based program targets medical professionals and First Responders, anyone may attend.
BLS Renewal
This 3 hour course is an American Heart Association Healthcare Provider level course that meets the CPR requirements for those working in the healthcare field. Those students who have a current AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider card should take this course. Proof of current card must be shown.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Provider 12 Contact Hours
This 2 day course offers a combination of advanced care skills including ECG interpretation, invasive techniques, medications, therapeutic modalities, electrical therapy of cardiac dysrhythmias and advanced airway management in patients over 8 years of age. Students who have never taken an ACLS class before or who have let their cards expire or work infrequently with critical adult patients should take this course.
ACLS Renewal 6 Contact Hours
This 1 day course evaluates the students proficiency in a combination of advanced care skills including ECG interpretation, invasive techniques, medications, therapeutic modalities, electrical therapy of cardiac dysrhythmias and advanced airway management in patients over 8 years of age. Those students who have a current AHA ACLS Provider card should take this course. Proof of current card must be shown. This course is designed for re-certification and students should arrive prepared to practice and test. If you care for critically ill patients infrequently or you prefer comprehensive instruction prior to testing, please enroll in the 2 day provider course instead.
PALS Provider 14 Contact Hours
This course offers a combination of advanced care skills including ECG interpretation, invasive techniques, medications, therapeutic modalities, electrical therapy of cardiac dysrhythmias and advanced airway management in patients under 8 years of age. Students who have never taken a PALS class before or who have let their cards expire should take this 2-day course.
PALS Renewal 7 Contact Hours
This 1 day course evaluates the students proficiency in didactic and skills used to resuscitate and stabilize pediatric medical emergencies. Those students who have a current AHA PALS Provider card should take this course. Proof of current card must be shown. This course is designed for re-certification and students should arrive prepared to practice and test. If you care for pediatric patients infrequently or you prefer comprehensive instruction prior to testing, please enroll in the 2 day provider course instead.
PEARS 7 Contact Hours
This 1 day course teaches providers how to recognize respiratory distress, shock and cardiac arrest, and provide appropriate lifesaving interventions within the initial minutes of response until the child is transferred to an advanced life support provider. The goal of PEARS is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured infants and children, resulting in improved outcomes. PEARS is for healthcare providers such as emergency medical technicians (EMTs), medical and surgical nurses, school nurses and any other healthcare provider who infrequently sees critically ill infants and children.
ABC's of EKG's
This course is designed for health care professionals who would like to understand the basic principles of the EKG. It includes an overview of the anatomy and physiology of the heart and how those processes are recorded on an EKG strip. Emphasis is placed on the analysis and interpretation of rhythm strips and common dysrhythmias. This course is recommended for students with little or no previous training in basic EKG principals or as a refresher course for more experienced students. Prior EKG experience is not required. This class includes extensive hands-on practice and students will create a “strip library” to take home with them. Course tuition includes calipers and all required materials. A Certification of Completion will be issued to students who attend all course segments and complete the required in-class assignments, including achieving a score of 84% or above on the post-test.
12 Lead EKG Interpretation 8 Contact Hours
This course is designed for healthcare providers who want to increase their confidence in EKG interpretation. This course is recommended for students proficient in basic EKG principals. Course tuition includes all required materials.
A Certification of Completion and 8 (BRN) CE hours will be issued to students who attend all course segments and complete the required in-class assignments, including achieving a score of 84% or above on the post-test. Pre-requisites: Successful completion of the Basic EKG course (or its equivalent) or familiarity with cardiac anatomy and physiology, the conduction system, basic cardiac rhythms and basic EKG interpretation.
Facilitating the Mock Code 4 Contact Hours
This 4 hour course is designed to prepare healthcare providers to conduct mock codes in their facility. The mechanics of the mock code are discussed with an emphasis on the process of debriefing after each session. This course is ideal for hospitals, clinics, doctors offices, dental offices, and any setting where staff might need to respond to a patient emergency.
ACLS Prep 7 Contact Hours
This 8 hour course provides a review of cardiac rhythms and pharmacology associated with ACLS and hands on practice to prepare you for your ACLS course.
Interpreting Lab Results 7 Contact Hours
This course is designed for healthcare providers who want to increase their confidence in the interpretation of lab values.
